We need to improve site-wide search ability...

IMO, this issue includes the behavior of the search/goto field you see in the upper right conrner of the page. The problem is that:

  • hovering above the suggestion fills the suggestion text in
  • submiting form using an action on the text input just reloads the page - search for projects should be invoked instead

See also issue KENAI-344.

My understanding is that site-wide search goes far beyond the problems with the existing field.
There is no way to search across all the content of the different features like webcontent, list archives, ...

One of search criteria should be that one can specify which type of content one would like to search in across all projects, e.g. list archives, ...

I just want to mention for the sake of sorting out the search issues that this seems like 2 requirements:

1. Ability to search across all features of a project(s)
2. Ability to search across all projects for content given specified feature(s) (like list archives)
