NetBeans OpenGL Pack
The goal of the NetBeans OpenGL Pack Project is to provide an easy to use OpenGL development environment integrated into NetBeans. The NetBeans OpenGL Pack provides modules like an GLSL shader editor, hardware compiler/linker integration or tools for displaying hardware information and many sample projects.
Currently implemented features
- JOGL (JSR 231) project templates
- Integration of JOGL GUI components to the NetBeans Form Designer
- OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL 1.4) editor with compiler error annotation, code folding, syntax highlighting, auto completion and documentation.
- Easy access to the GLSL compiler and linker of your graphics driver integrated in the editor
- OpenGL Capabilities Viewer
- OpenGL Quicksearch
- Java Applet and Webstart support
Demos, Tutorials and Samples
- Ready to run examples of the OpenGL Programming Guide (also known as Red Book),
- JOGL 2 demo projects,
- and NEHE tutorials
The next version will fully support JOGL 2 and provide the famous NEHE tutorials which have been recently ported to java.
early access builds
Installation
- Download the NetBeans OpenGL Pack from the plugin portal and extract the archive
- Start NetBeans and open the Plugin Manager (Tools->Plugins)
- Enable Force install into shared directories on the Settings page
- Add all modules (.nbm files) to the Downloaded plugins list and press Install
- The installation wizard will guide you now for the rest of the installation
