I wanted to know more about this project before joining. Are there more details beyond the project description? Is there sample code I can look at? Very curious based on the project description but nothing much to go on.

Hi, Alice is a drag and drop 3D programming environment, with a focus on enabling middle school students to be able to use the environment to tell stories and be the director of their own 3D movies. Lots lots lots more on the subject over at http://alice.org. If you have any questions, please follow-up. The best way to check things out is go download and try it out. Start with the example tutorial worlds and experiment with making your own projects. The drag and drop programming environment is handy for avoiding having students spend a lot of time wrestling with syntax errors. "One hard thing at a time" is the mantra for using Alice to get students interested in making their own projects and telling their own stories. Best regards, -- DanG

Hi Dan,

I saw your screencast and I am so excited to see something so meaningful being developed by the community. I have joined as an observer today, but I guess not much is being discussed on Kenai forums of Alice yet. Do you recommend that I visit the Alice.org for keeping myself updated or are you planning to direct more traffic in here.

Hi. Just to be clear, the screen casts are from the Carnegie Mellon University Alice team. I am simply a teacher using Alice, thrilled to be using such a great resource with students. There will be a lot more information hit shore starting next week. Keep an ear to the ground for the ACM SIG CSE 2009 conference sessions and more info should show up on all channels shortly.
