If Alice fails to run on Windows, reporting:

 Error occurred during initialization of VM; Could not create the java virtual machine;could not reserve enough space for object heap.

edit the Alice.bat file and try lowering the maximum heap from

 -Xmx1024m

 -Xmx700m
