Error installing Alice?

Sometimes the Alice installer fails to install Alice properly. If you get an error while installing Alice, you can help us out by finding and mailing us the log file that was generated when you ran the installer.

Step 1) Find the installer log files:

For the purposes of this example, let's say your user account is 'fred'. The log files for the installer are located in the following directory:

• Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\fred\.alice\log\
• Windows Vista: C:\Users\fred\.alice\log\
• Mac OSX: /Users/fred/.alice/log/
• Linux: /Users/fred/.alice/log/

Step 2) Find the latest log file: It's possible you'll have more than one log file in this directory. Sort the files by the date they were created and pick out the most recent file.

Step 3) Mail the log file as an attachment to mailto:logs@alice.org
