Hi all, I have only just started using BSAF. So far so good. Its a great idea and its working well so far. I have a few comments on how to make the framework more broadly useful. I would very much like to see this framework be adopted more widely. So, please take this as constructive feedback. Also, I am happy to help out on the project in anyway I can. In my use so far, I found that it is hard (if not impossible) to inject objects into the application using any DI framework. The usefulness of this framework will be limited by the ability (or the lack of ability) to inject objects using spring or other DI frameworks. This is one area that would be critical to adoption. I have read through this thread and find it interesting (http://kenai.com/projects/bsaf/forums/open-discussion/topics/1935-ApplicationContext-extending-for-app-needs#p5632). I think this needs to be taken further and rolled into the framework to make it widely usable. I am new to this framework and am coming from a developers perspective. I have no idea how much refactoring is required to support something like this. But, if others have similar ideas, I would be happy to help. I am trying to somehow integrate Spring with BSAF and will let you know how I go. Thanks Srini Ranganathan sriniRvasan at gmail dot com |

I'm using the same approach and it works great. BSAF combined with: - Spring (Using only Beans Configuration - No XML) - EventBus - Shiro (Security) - JGoodies (Binding) - Substance (L&F) Has proven very powerful for me and much more lightweight/modular than the big RCP platforms |
