BTrace Plugin for VisualVM

Purpose

With this plugin you can create, edit and deploy BTrace scripts directly from VisualVM Since version 0.6 the plugin provides a shared API which can be used by VisualVM plugin developers to utilize BTrace infrastructure in their modules.

Installation

• Stable

The latest stable version of BTrace plugin is hosted on the official VisualVM (version 1.2.1 and higher) update center. The only thing you need to install it is to select the plugin from the list of available plugins.

• Development

The latest development version of BTrace plugin is hosted on a dedicated update center. You can easily add the update center definition by installing the update center definition module

Pre 0.4 versions

1. Open Tools/Plugins menu in VisualVM
2. Add new Plugins Center - use

   http://btrace.kenai.com/uc/visualvm/updates.xml

   as its URL
3. Once you added the new plugins center there should be a new module named BTrace Workbench in the list of available plugins
4. After succesfuly installing the BTrace Workbench you can start tracing applications
