Templates are fully configured pre-built Bullet Graphs. They are intended to be used as the basis for data-specific renderings of the Bullet Graph, i.e. configured with the specific business data to be presented to the information consumer.

Technically, the templates are serialized Java objects, which makes them easy to store and load from the console. There's no technical limitation on where the templates can be stored, as serialized objects they are simply sequences of bytes and can be stuffed into whatever container can handle them.

At present the Bullet Graph Designer can only store them in the file system.

Enhancing the Designer, and The Bullet Grapherator, to handle non-file system destinations for the various artifacts is planned.
