Just a brief update: I've been silent on the forum(s) the last couple of weeks, but I haven't been idle (far from it). I've been refactoring some of the class hierarchies to use the VisAD math types in preparation for the next phase of development. It's taken me awhile to "get my head around" the VisAD library, but lately, I've been making significant progress. This effort will allow the fire behavior data (both predictions and signatures) to be analyzed in a number of ways, including visually and via data mining. I'm striving for a useful and reusable class hierarchy. Its not very exciting stuff at this stage in the development process, but later on the rewards of a good class design are great. -- Bruce Emxsys.com |

Just a follow up on the project status: I'm still working on implementing VisAD in the new Wildfire API. The learning curve has been kinda steep. It's been a little harder to do than I thought it would be -- organizing the spatial-temporal data that is. Progress can be tracked via the Software Commits List. -- Bruce Emxsys.com |
