I'm actively working on the fuel flammability and fuel moisture charts. I've incorporated the JFreeCharts library (jfree.org) which provides exceptional display of numerical data. I'm quite excited about its potential use within the CPS project. I expect that the CPS Fuel Flammability Chart will be rendered quite well with this technology. Presently, I'm using the XY spline charts within the unit tests to graph outputs of the core fuel temp/moisture calculations. I've discovered some errors as a result of the graphed equations. I'll release v0.4.1 once these outputs are corrected and validated. -- Bruce Emxsys.com |

Here's an update on the CPS v0.4.1 status. I slowed down a little bit over the holidays, but I did make some significant progress on my implementation of the 1986 Rothermel et al Fine Fuel Moisture equations. I spent quite of bit of time on validating the computation of both daily and hourly fine fuel moisture. I plotted the outputs in the unit tests using JFreeChart. With that effort for the most part behind me, its now a short road to having a dynamic CPS Flammability Chart in the application. Cool. I'll follow that up with an installer for v0.4.1 -- this, I hope, should simplify installing and running the app on Macs. Once these two tasks are dealt with, we will have reached a milestone. Then we move into the realm of "fire signatures" and "data mining". That's were the fun really begins! -- Bruce Emxsys.com |

There's a slight delay in the release of v0.4.1. I discovered a bug while working on the display of the flagship CPS Fuel Flammability Chart. My implementation of the diurnal fine fuel moisture calculations isn't correct yet; so, stand by while I work on the fix. Sorry for the delay. -- Bruce |
