Discovery service (old Catalogue service)

• Purpose: used for searching OGC Web services (standard and semantically annotated)

The Discovery service provides a standard endpoint (CSW HTTP interface, http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/cat) for the discovery of OGC resources. It has been enhanced with semantic capabilities, so that queries based on the semantic descriptions of the services can be performed.

Java Content Repository

• Purpose: Provides access to the user resources (services, ontologies, ...)

The Content Repository (JCR) provides access to all resources in the ENVISION portal user's collection. The Content Repository for Java (JCR) is a standard component compliant to the JSR specification (http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=283). Several implementations exist, we are using Apache Jackrabbit (http://jackrabbit.apache.org/).

OntoBridge Service

• Purpose: provides ontology grounding and querying functionality
• Technology: SOAP Web service implemented in .NET C#

Orchestration Engine

• Purpose: Enables the execution of service chains uploaded to the Execution Infrastructure via the Deployment Service
