I noticed that there seem to have been no changes to the source code in 11 months. Is anyone actively working on this plug-in? If so, what is the roadmap. When will it support: - Organize imports - Code formatting - Code completion - Visual designer And when can we expect it to be stable? There is a real need for an Eclipse plug-in for all of us who are not comfortable working with NetBeans. |
Is the JavaFx plugin for Eclipse dead?

Hi Divemaster, From your remark I am thinking you are using the first version of JavaFX Plugin for Eclipse (http://kenai.com/projects/eplugin/pages/Home ) codename eplugin. This project page will be cleaned-up and become frozen soon. Sorry for not having cleaned up this project page earlier. Eplugin project is closed and as said on the wiki page has resurrected in JavaFX 1.2 Plugin for Eclipse ( http://kenai.com/projects/eplugin2/pages/Home ) codename eplugin2 Eplugin2 has been released for JavaOne 2009 and provide code completion and code formatting. You can get JavaFX 1.2 Plugin for Eclipse from javafx.com page: http://javafx.com/docs/gettingstarted/eclipse-plugin/index.jsp#downloadinfo You will find many infos starting here http://javafx.com/docs/gettingstarted/eclipse-plugin/index.jsp and from Eplugin2 Kenai wiki page : http://kenai.com/projects/eplugin2/pages/Home We are currently finalizing next release for JavaFX 1.2.1. This version will go live in the coming weeks. This version will fix bugs, support import of Netbeans project, and allow development of reasonable sized projects. We are also working on a future step in sync with next version of JavaFX. For this version we should move to become an Eclipse project. Hope that helps, Olivier. |
