A new feature, Downloads, is now available to every project. You can upload documentation, release artifacts, or other files to this area to make available for download. Right now, you can only upload via browser, but we hope to expand the usefulness of this feature in the future. Thanks all, The Project Kenai Team |

This is a great feature but it's important to be able to group downloads by a certain release. Something like 1.0 download1 download2 2.0 download3 download4 otherwise users have to scan through the downloads looking at each one trying to find the right one. You can "sort of" do this with the tagging feature but I'm concerned about tag clashes. Are the download tags scoped to only that project? Can i tag my first release 1.0, then tag the next set of releases 2.0 and not interfere with other projects? |

| The lack of any sort of multi-file upload is really serious punishment. |

Hi, In our project we currently have a large number of files in the Download directory, now I need to download these files in an automated fashion. I was thinking of using wget, however as we have a large number of files I can't see any way for me to get a complete directory listing that I can use to determine what files have changed since the last time. Any ideas on how to do this?? /peter |

Hi Peter, Currently, you can't. At least as far as I know. It's a click and download method today. We are working on a method that will allow you to have a lot more control over the download area, but we won't see that available until this summer. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you right now. --jb The Project Kenai Team |

Does a user need to login to Kenai in order to download artifacts (say jar files)? In zembly we are going to point to a public Kenai project where users can download some java related jar files. Thanks. Rico |

It's completely up to the project admin. They can set the role permissions for the download feature to allow anonymous downloads if they like. See the documentation for the Downloads feature here: http://kenai.com/projects/help/pages/ManageProject#Downloads Hope this helps, --jb The Project Kenai Team |

any limit size for the uploaded document? Actually I prefer my document for users is in video clips, especially using OGM/OGG (video clip that able to play with VLC player). The OGM/OGG file are small for long period compare to WMV/AVI. |
