Hello Kenai Team,

I would like to request for this feature. It would help a lot, as you can see most of the projects here are using forums for discussion. It would be a bonus to add the requested feature, i.e. either let us subscribe to forums OR if we post/reply to forum post, we should get notifications for it by default (or by choice).

Example: Try to reply to any post on forums.netbeans.org and the person gets an option (checkbox) to receive notifications to replies to that post.

Regards,
Varun

You can subscribe to RSS feed of topic or forum right now. Look for RSS icon in the address bar.

I agree that having an option for watching topic via e-mail (just like in Sun's forum) would be useful.

Exactly, but that's definitely not a right choice to make. If I post question/reply to 5 different forums, then I need to keep a check at everyone on them using feeds. That's only possible, if one creates an aggregator for it.

However, I still feel this is tedious compared to feature I request.

Thanks!

Hi guys,

You both have good points in your posts.

I've already added the original request to our backlog, however I did want to also point out that there is an aggregator of all Forum threads that you are involved in. It's at the bottom of your MyPage. It shows all the changes and replies to every thread that you have personally replied to or started. Unfortunately, there is not an RSS feed for this area. Smile

At least it is one place that you can look at and see all of the updates to your threads.

Hope that helps out until we can get to this specific request.
