One of the first things I do when evaluating a project is scan its Javadoc. It would be nice if Kenai let us post our project Javadoc so users could browse it directly off the website instead of having to download and extract it locally.

Alternatively, make it easier to commit these kinds of files into the repository and let users browse directly off there. The problem is that right now you add ?raw=true to the URLs which makes browsing off it difficult.

Compare this with Google Code, where you can go to http://code.google.com/p/google-guice/source/browse/trunk/javadoc/index.html click on "view raw" and the resulting URL is completely usable for browsing the entire Javadoc. Google Code does this right. Kenai should provide the same functionality.

Hi cowwoc,

Yes, this ability has been in our backlog for sometime now. There are some other things that have to happen first before this can be implemented, but we hope to have all of this completed during the summer.

Thanks for letting us know what you're looking for. This really does help improve the site.

cowwoc,

while I agree with your request of explicit support for publishing javadocs, I don't understand the need for ?raw=true. For instance, this document has been published in a www Subversion repository of the project:

http://kenai.com/svn/betterbeansbinding~svn/trunk/www/docs/apidocs/1.2.2/index.html

and as you can see the pure URL can be directly rendered. The only thing I did is to svn setproperty svn:mime-type text/http

With the August 4th addition of the Website feature, you can now create a web site for your project and upload your Javadoc files there.
