60 days not only "should provide ample time for all projects to be moved." It *is* ample time. But it's also guaranteed to be not enough time for many. Frankly I think this reflects pretty badly on Oracle. What can another six months of operations costs be? Why not leave Kenai up for a whole year? If your computing architecture is scalable, you should be able to reduce costs proportionately as usage declines. IMHO it reflects very poorly on Oracle -- a technology conglomerate that sells servers, networking hardware, and databases -- that it was not seen fit to scale down Kenai operations over a longer period of time. |
