In a project's Downloads area, after you upload a file, is there any way to move it to a different download folder? I could not see any way to do this. Also, I was wondering why on the Downloads page, the breadcrumbs are shown in the order >> Add File for Download >> Add Folder This implied to me that I should Add File first, then Add Folder, which didn't seem to make sense, but then I thought maybe I would be prompted for a folder when I added the file. That didn't happen, so now I have a download file in a place it doesn't belong. I think it would be more logical if the breadcrumbs were like this: >> Add Folder >> Add File for Download When you click Add File for Download, it could default to whatever folder you had open when you clicked the Add File link, but allow you to select one of the other existing folders in the download area, or allow you to create a new folder. |

Hi Susan, You are correct. Those two links are in a confusing order. When you add a file, it goes into the folder that you are currently in. There is not a method for moving a file to another location today. You will need to delete the file and re-upload it to the new location. Sorry for the inconvenience. --jb The Project Kenai Team |

You will need to delete the file and re-upload it to the new location And that will lose the data associated with the download (like downloads count), right? Clau |

That's good point. You are right that you will lose stats data then. I raised an issue for that, you can track it here: http://kenai.com/jira/browse/KENAI-2034 Another option is to use website feature as your download area, but you will not have any stats as well. But at least you should be able to work with more files more comfortable. |
