Imixs Open Source Workflow Wiki
Our goal is to provide a JEE compliant workflow engine which focus on human based business processes. This means that the IX JEE Workflow is for Human-To-Human Workflows but can also be used for technical business process management. The components are based on EJB 3.0 and Jax WS Webservices. They can be integrated in any JEE Application Environment. So if you plan to implement a JEE Web Application or an JEE Client Applicaiton it is very easy to add the IX JEE Components to get an easy to use workflow service. We are also looking out for people which work with this components to improve the JEE components and make them useful for other projects.
Glassfish Server
This Project is based on the JEE5 Specification and makes use of different JEE services like EJB 3.0, JPA and Web Service API. So the IX JEE Workflow fulfills all the requests to a scalable, transactional, robust and simple deployable Workflow Management System.
The main part of this project was developed within a Glassfish server environment. So a lot of informations are about installation and configuration in Glassfish Server environment. But as the JEE Specification supports a easy deployment on all JEE5 Servers, it will run on all other JEE5 compliant servers. Maven
The different artifacts of this project are build using Maven2 . Using Maven to set up an JEE Web Project is the most easiest and fastest way. You need no IDE specific settings as all the stuff of compiling and building the project will be done by maven. So also the source code in our subversion repository contains maven configurations.
