HI I am new to java card. I 'm very excited to see the great improvement of jc3, especially on the web aspect. But I have a question: I think jc3 is like a application server now, and we deploy some applications on it. This means we can access the applications from internet. Could you give me example to explain how does the card communicate with reader. Did the java card can gain ip address automatically? |
Some questions on java card 3

How it communicates is not in JC3 specs. It is upto the OEMs or stack builders or who ever build the cards. For example ETSI has some predefined URL if a MIDlet opens a connection to "http://myuicc/..." then it connects to JC3 SIM card. And on desktop, theoritically say for example hooking up the USB card will gain the ip address may be by using some drivers. In 2008 JavaOne, the Gemalto card used Win32TAP drivers to get an ip address. In summary its not very clear right now how the card gets IP
