JDasher Wiki

Okay, I see a lot of interest in actually developing a full Java version of Dasher. But I don't see a lot of coordination. I'd like too coordinate here for the time being. JDasher is a application I built on top of the Java applet. It's kind of messy but I'd like to divide it up into these parts:

  • A self-contained model for Dasher documents rather than all the dasher.core garbage.
  • A set of lite views. Currently I'm having trouble extracting the view from the applet. I want the JDasherPanel and JDasherEdit to reflect the same model but be more self-contained.
  • A consistent event system. Currently events are tied to preference changes! That is crazy.
  • Finally, a set of apps that take all this and package it neatly together.

I think the main problem in the applet and my attempt to make it into an application is not enough modularity. Is anyone interested in cooperating to make something like this possible?
