So sorry to hear about these build errors -- the build has been
working for me for some time, so I guess it's time to unwind and see
what the problem is.

What version of Maven are you using?

From your traces it looks like you're using JRuby 1.3.0RC1, so I tried
building with a pristine binary distribution. I also got a failed
build (!), but it failed for a different reason:

  rake aborted!
  Command failed with status (1):
[/Users/nicksieger/Projects/jruby/1.3.0RC1/...]
  /Users/nicksieger/Projects/ruby/jruby-rack/Rakefile:93

After manually setting the classpath and running the spec command I
found one of the describe blocks without a description, which must be
a more recent change in RSpec. Everything builds fine for me with
Rake, a pristine 1.3.0RC1 distro and an empty classpath as of 17091ad.

Can you pull the latest, try again and let me know what you see?
