I came across this post by Xavier Ducrohet (Google) about IntelliJ Preview of Android UI layouts: "Looks like they are using the external rendering library that's packaged in each platform component of the SDK. They are likely also using our IDE-side code that parses framework and project resources, that helps supporting custom views, etc... All this code is not in the Eclipse plug-in (which uses the Eclipse Public License), we put it instead in separate libraries under Apache license so that other tools vendor can reuse it easily. Pretty awesome to see them finally used!" http://blogs.jetbrains.com/idea/2011/10/new-in-intellij-idea-11-preview-of-android-ui-layouts/ This doesn't look easy to do, but would be awesome to have. Would you be willing to pay for such functionality? Did you consider making a donation (go to http://www.nbandroid.org/)? -Radim |
