I have not been actively using the Plug-in or SDK since I first installed it, right after G1 launch. I am now starting active development, and find my rc1 SDK out of date.

Just thought I would ask before I mess up my Netbeans installation, how do you upgrade the Android SDK the plug-in uses?

FYI, I have no real investment NBAndroid Projects at this point yet. The little amount of Android code so far has been to a Class Library Project. I have decided to implement Multiple Project Android applications using Proguard 4.x. . If I can manage to hand modify the build-impl.xml (not my strong suit) to get this functionality, I will post it as an attachment to my enhancement Issue. Otherwise, I will just have to do everything in external script file, and ultimately not use the plug-in, but would like to try.

The way to update SDK, after downloading & editing PATH is:

  • goto Tools>>Java Platforms
  • Select Andoid Platform & click Delete
  • Click Add Platform
  • Select Google Android Open Handheld Platform radio & click Next
  • Select the new SDK folder as the Platform Folder & click finish

There is no need to uninstall the plug-in itself.

As far as implementing Proguard to build multi-project Android Apps, I have decided that trying to do everything inside of Netbeans right from the beginning is too much. I will build script file which takes Netbeans Build Jar files to generate an .APK file. Once that works, I will post that.
