I installed this plugin using the Tools -->Plugins menu that show up in Netbeans IDE.
After installing the plugin I tried to set up the connection using "Manage connections" by right clicking on the project.

I entered all the details to create a connection.
Why don't I see any connect button to actually try connecting to my perforce server?or it connects automatically if I just hit the save button?And I was just seeing item1,item2.... in my workspaces section when I try to browse for my workspace folder?

Once all this is done when I try to go to Team->Perforce option, I just see Manage connections enabled and none of the other options are enabled.

What am I missing here?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

There is no implemented a feature to import your source code from perforce server. That is on the road. Still you can use p4v for this job. So first step is to check out your sources.

Second step: After you define a connection, it means that this connection can be used by a project. In order for a project to be managed by your perforce connection you have to right click on your project in Projects tab. From the contextual menu you have to go to Versioning -> Manage by Perforce. The the dialog box which will be displayed you can select you defined perforce connection. After this step your project will be controlled by perforce.

	As a matter of curiosity: why don't you use 6.9.x netbeans version. It is a real step forward. Has nice new features and is faster than his older brother. Also, you can use 1.0.5 version of the plugin, it works with 6.8 an should work better and have additional features.

	The problem is when I right click on the project,only "Manage Connections" is enabled,everything else is grayed out,so I am not able to select "Manage by Perforce". Why is this happening?
