Any plans for a 1.0 release? Is the SVN trunk stable?

The trunk is stable; probably there should be a 1.0 release - I think the API is not likely to need changing much, and people have been using it for a while.

I'm no longer at Sun / Oracle, and have a pretty insanely-busy new job right now, so I don't know when I'd get around to doing release-like things with it. But if someone else wants to, I'd be happy to give them version control and project management rights to the project.

We are using it in our product (with SWT bridging) and it works fine. If the release procedure is simple enough and there is agreement that the code is stable enough to cut a 1.0, I could probably do it.

Before or after the release (depending on how I find time) I'd like to reevaluate how the library shall be published in Maven repositories.

Hi all!

Sorry to hear you're gone, Tim!

If any of you guys are able to take the lead on doing a release, I could at least chip in with some help on updating documentation if needed.

There may also be a bug here and there that should be fixed. I'm thinking specifically on the issue with the JScrollPane, mentioned in an other recent forum thread.

Perhaps we could do a beta or something first?

Well, I think the release process is whatever folks want to do and are comfortable with and expect others to be comfortable with. I.e. some variation on
- Stick an announcement on the web site
- Label a version "pre-release" or "beta" and publish it to whatever maven repositories it's already in
- Figure out what bugs must be fixed so that we're all comfortable calling it a release
- Get folks to test it
- Do all of the above again, but call it 1.0

Milos, I'd be fine with you fully mavenizing it if you want; also if there's any splitting up of things to eliminate Swing dependencies, that's fine too.

This will be cool Smile
