Why this program ?

I watch a lot of US tv shows, and I like to keep my files in order. Soon I tried to find a program to rename and classify all my video files, but I couldn't find one that would do exactly what I wanted: get the correct name for my show, the title and everything, and allow me to rename it easily.

You can find a lot of programs to manage mp3 collections, and to find real names from the internet, such as Music Brainz for example, but when you come to tv shows... it seems harder to find.

That's why I decided to write my own program. And then I though that it could be usefull to others, so ... here it is !

What is Tv Show Manager ?

This little program in java can be used to manage your tv show files.

You just have to select a folder to scan, all files will be analyzed, and you will get a list of corresponding tv shows. You may have to correct a few names, but overall it works out pretty well.

You can then open a tv show page where all your episodes are listed.

On this page you can rename one or more episodes, you can choose the format (of renaming), you can search for subtitles (it doesn't work all the time, I still have to work on that to add more sources), launch the episode with the subtitle, etc...
