Guide for TwitterFlow - JavaFx twitter client

TwitterFlow work bt creating flows of information on twitter. A flow can be your timeline, some search or mentions. Here is an overview of the application

Whem you first open the client, as you have no flow yet you will face a empty main screen.

Also the config screen will open up, so you can configure your streams. Let me explain the configuration screen.

First you have your timelines, with the users you have added. It will be empty the first time. By filling the "Login" and "Password" fields, and them pressing add, a user will be created and added to the list.

You can click on a user icon to be able to edit it. Each user will now be available when you send something to tweeter, and each one will have a Timeline flow on the main screen.

For "Search" you can enter the search terms you and to join in a flow sepparated by commas, like "javafx, android" will look for tweets that hava javafx or android keywords.

For "Mentions" it works mostly like the search, except that you will put the username without "@".

The Follow users allows you to keep track of groups of users, you don't have to follow this users on you account to put them here. Just type theirs usernames without "@" comma seppareted.

On the config screen as soon as you hit any button the changes are saved, and you can now close this screen and go back to the Main screen.

Now I'll explain the main screen to you.

The first "email" button opens the input dialog allowing you to tweet somethig.(I'll explain more on this later)

The second "green turning arrow" is the refresh button. When you are on the main screen that lists your flows, hitting this button will reload the flow lists, and schedule the calls to fill each flow. If you are already inside a flow, this will reload just this flow.

The third "eject" button allow you to pop the current view out (only for flows).(I'll explain more on this later)

The forth "down" button goes back to the main flow lists screen, whem you area somewhere else.

The last "engine" button opens the already explained config screen.

Now that you have your flows configured, you can press the "refresh" button to see them. These flows will update themselves automaticly, and whenever there is something new, it will alert you on the system tray.

By clicking in the icon of some flow you will be on the "flow screen", theses shows the last subjects on this configured flow.

Whem on the flow screen, you can click on the refresh button to force the reload of this flow, or on the "down" button to go back to the flow list main scren.

By clicking on a user profile thumbnail it will open this users profile on the web browser. The blue words with a little arrow are links, by clicking on the arrow it will open on the browser.

The email button with a forward arrow(the top one) will open the input tweet screen with this Retweet option. The Email with reply/back one will open it replying the user.

If you now click on the "eject" button, the current flow wil pop out.

A pop out window is independent of the rest, it will not update by it self. On a popout window you can use the textbox to filter the tweets.

You can also paginate on older tweets by using the "back" and "next" arrows. By clicking on the "refresh" you forces a update on this screen, looking for new tweets.

Now, back on the (main) flow screen, you can click on the "mail" button to open the input tweet screen.

On the "Say something" section, you can type your tweet on the input box, and see the count on red. You can them choose wich user account to user, and click "send" to update you twitter status.

On the "Shorten an url" section, you can type a big url on the left textbox, click on the "Shorten" button and see the small version using http://is.gd/ of it on the next input, so you can copy it into your tweet.

On the "Send a pic" section, you can send a picture to twitter using the twitpic service. Click on "Browse" to choose an image from you computer, them type you message bellow. The image url is already taken into account on the counter. Them choose the user account and click "send", to update you status.

That's it for now, have fun.
