I've just created the functional spec for this project http://kenai.com/projects/webdesigner/pages/Home Note that it is almost a copy of http://wiki.netbeans.org/WebPageDesigner People might be wondering why I started this project (support for Eclipse), while I have a pending proposal for NB. Did I abandon the NB Web deisgner project? The answer is no. It is on hold, because of the Heavyweight (Mozilla Xulrunner) vs LightWeight (Swing based Netbeans IDE). However, Eclipse does not have that limitation. So I thought I should port my NB prototype to Eclipse and continue there. I look at it as an opporunity to have the web designer for both the platforms. The solution I expect in NB is the JWebPane, which is a light weight implementation of WebKit. I'm not sure if it would expose as much underlying API via Java wrapping as in Xulrunner. |
