how can I mark a project as private? Is it compulsory to use a open source license if I host a project at kenai.

Is there a commercial version of kenai?

Hi anf,

Private projects are not available to the general public at this time. Project Kenai provides the ability to select from the OSI list of Open Source licenses, or to select an Other option and define your own license. Please see the help docs for dealing with the Other license option

There is not a commercial version of Project Kenai. It is provided as a service, hosted by Sun Microsystems

Hope that helps,

The Project Kenai Team

thanks project team,

I am not completely sure, but I did not find any hints in the documentation, that the 'other' license has to be a open source license.

Does this mean I could use a closed source license as well? If I grant access just to kown members I could use it as my companies project hosting environment. Do I understand this correctly?

Yes, you understand that correctly. Smile
